Tooling
In order to achieve optimum results, constant innovation is critical. With
our high level of technical know-how, our staff and our continuous development
program, we have established Technoplast as one of the leading manufacturers
of high quality extrusion tooling worldwide. We develop and produce customized
tooling with an optimized price-value relationship. Our tooling is reliable,
powerful and modular with many options. In addition to our standard tooling
system for main and auxiliary profiles, we produce a simple cost-effective
tooling system for single wall profiles. For high volume applications, we offer
revolutionary possibilities for double strand extrusion with our Y-adapter.
Our R&D efforts continue to meet the growing challenge of individual profile
extrusion. At tooling conception, we focus on maximized output and service
reliability with minimized energy consumption and easy handling. From the design
of the tooling to commissioning, we concentrate on profile quality, full service
and high flexibility. The manufacturing of our tools is primarily in our headquarters
in Austria where we use only the best materials and components.
Living the customers' applications in all departments of our company is the base of
our product development, which guarantees common success over a long period of time.
High End Extrusion Dies
Classic dies with mandrels guarantee consistent material handling, stable temperatures
and easy maintenance. Specific customer needs like special fixation, materials or dimensions
of the die are also possible
Combination Calibration System
Dies, calibrators and tank plates are produced in stainless steel (type similar to 1.2316,
optimized for extrusion tooling) to guarantee the best profile quality with long lifetimes.
Whenever possible, we use standardized modular elements to reduce spare part logistics.
Dry Calibration
The dry calibrator keeps the 200 degrees celcius hot PVC coming from the die in form and cools
it down at surface to nearly room temperature. Central water and vacuum are available and a
well-positioned fastening system allow toolless changing of calibrators in a short period of time.
Wet Calibration
We use our worldwide patented whirlbath technology for the highest cooling with the lowest water
consumption. Standardized sizes of tanks are interchangeable with different profiles.
 Segmented Dies
Mandrel dies are the standard approach to Technoplast's tooling solutions. This
system which has been improved over the course of decades combines sturdy tooling
technology with optimized channel geometry. The freely accessible channels make
these tools extremely maintenance friendly. We have managed to transfer out mandrel
dies' optimized channel geometry to die systems consisting of disk shaped segments.
This technology allows for an even more precise guidance of melt flows and thus
enlarges these tooling systems' production window. Ideal applications for segmented
die systems are complex profile geometries, coextrusion and processing of regrind.
CoEx
In recent years, demand for fully and partially sheathed profiles has been
a constant growth. For Technoplast, Coextrusion is one of the technological
core competencies. We offer solutions for processing PVC, PMMA and ASA as Coextrusion
material for both segmented and mandrel dies.
Carbide Inserts
The inserts manufactured from a sintered metal using PIM technology are used for exchangeable hold points for guiding templates. They guarantee accurate dimensions of the extruded profile lineals over a long period of time. Using the possibilities of stepwise dimensioned inserts short time corrections of tooling geometries can be applied.
WPC Extrusion
For almost ten years Technoplast has been working on tooling concepts for
the extrusion of fiber material. Combining our know-how in PVC window and foam
technology with the then-new idea of extruding WPC revolutionized the tooling
market and made us one of the most successful suppliers worldwide. Corporations
with the most innovative European material suppliers and virtually all large
extruder manufactures using PVC, PE and PP as a matrix.
